Rafiki RAMS is a Dutch consultancy and interim-management organization focusing on rolling stock and infrastructure assets in all aspects of their life cycle. The company has been set up by Arie van As and Paul van Mechelen. Arie gained his operational knowledge from the automotive industry with DAF Trucks. Paul is former head of Corporate Strategy at Dutch Railways. The roots of the company are established in NedTrain, the rolling stock maintenance organisation of NS Dutch Railways. Rafiki RAMS has been working for Stadler Rail, NS Dutch Railways, Rijkswaterstaat Dutch governmental infrastructure company and GVB.

 

Projects include the establishment and implementation of the rolling stock strategy for NS Dutch Railways/NedTrain; the RAMS assessment of the high-speed trains of Ansaldo Breda, various maintenance site assessments; audit on the metro North-South line in Amsterdam, the asset strategy for the transition towards zero emission for a public transport company, the feasibility and the set up up of a maritime development and innovation center.

We work closely together with de Rechtsdraaiende Organisatie, a company using former directors and executives of industrial organizations to implement change programs in operational environments. 

Additionally we work with Easylog, an ICT company designing and programming the custom based apps we use to support our change approach.

Our approach is threefold: the Rafiki scan to assess the improvement potential in a constructive self confrontation, embracing a quality philosophy and improving the quality through the eyes of the customers via the PQI-methodology.
